Finn is the only human being known alive in Ooo. As an orphaned baby, he is adopted by a family of magical dogs who raise him as their own. It is here that Finn would meet his brother and best friend, Jake. After Jake's parents passed away, Finn and Jake have since lived in a large treehouse along with BMO, a talking computer, and recently NPTR, a pie-throwing robot. Finn and Jake then spend their days engaging in a series of adventures. They would later offer themselves as guardians to the Candy Kingdom, ruled by Princess Bonabelle Bubblegum, of whom Finn has a crush on for a period of time before going steady with his current girlfriend, Flame Princess of the Fire Kingdom.
Bubblegum and the other known princesses of Ooo are being constantly targeted by the Ice King, the ruler of the Ice Kingdom populated with penguins who wants to capture princesses so he could have them as his wives. The Ice King's desire for a princess is due to his past life as a human named Simon Petrikov, who before the Mushroom War, discovered the Crown that grants him ice powers and survive the war at the cost of his sanity.
But to make a long story short, Adventure Time is just about A human boy and his brother -
a magical dog - set out to become righteous adventurers in the Land of Ooo.
